You've Got Spam!

Apart from reporting it to spam cop, you just have to hope that your anti-spam software manages to do its job.
Of course you also have to hope that your anti-spam software doesn't bin anything that you actually want (If you frequently find that you don't receive expected e-mails I advise that you check your spam bin before you complain!)
Prevention is better than cure

Spambots gather e-mail addresses from Web sites and newsgroups A spambot is a program designed to harvest e-mail addresses from the Internet in order to build mailing lists for sending junk or generally unwanted e-mail, also known as spam.
Don't put your e-mail address in the public domain Resist the urge to put your email address where anyone and everyone can see it - on a forum for example. Most community sites have a private message system that you can use to send your contact details to any interested party, without broadcasting them to everyone and their spambot. You wouldn't scrawl your home address up on the local pub wall... Would you?
